Ghost Boy

The Jester was mocked and cast out by the other ghosts. So he came back, attacked the ghost world, and stole its invisibility. Now one small ghost, powerless and easy to spot, has to sneak through the haunted places of the living and get it back.

A creepy, slightly charming PS1-style stealth game. Every room has more than one way through: keep to the shadows, lead the living away with noise, or haunt them until they run. Each level rates how unseen you stayed, with optional challenges for another try.

  1. The walk up the hill

The game now opens with a prelude: a long dirt road up a misty hill, dead trees, crows that scatter as you pass, and one lit window at the top. Get close to the house and two huge eyes open in the sky. The wind, the drone, and the crows are all synthesized.

  2. He has feelings now

Ghost Boy has no mouth, so his eyes do all the work. He blinks, glances around, worries when a guard gets curious, grins after a good spook, and dozes off with a z z Z if you leave him alone.

  3. First playable

Two days in, the library is playable. Five night guards with flashlights and lanterns, a ghost cat, and a ghost who can sneak, fade, hide in the dark, throw books to make noise, and spook guards from behind.
